The Liberal Arts Training Center of Teachers College is affiliated with the Teachers College of Jimei University and is an experimental teaching demonstration center for teacher education in Fujian Province, with a calligraphy training room, two electric piano classrooms, a digital piano training room, 31 piano practice studios, an education technology training room, a lighting modeling laboratory, a primary education science laboratory, a vocal music training room, a sensory integration training room, a teaching-aids training room, a dance training room, a comprehensive activity room, a drawing studio, a microteaching room, a micro-lesson virtual studio, and other labs. And a virtual simulation classroom for teacher training, an intelligent nursing and nutrition training room, a children's drama creation training room, a Fujian-Taiwan education and culture research office, a Chinese traditional culture research office, and a teacher development workshop are now being built.
The center has an area of 3009.51m2, with 1,392 sets of teaching instruments and equipment at a total value of 4.3278 million yuan. The equipment under construction is worth 1,9628 million yuan. The Center offers many courses for teaching and skills training, for example Teacher Writing, Preschool Children’s Science Education, Primary School Science Education, Chorus, Preschool Children’s Music Education, Microclass Design and Production, Modern Educational Technology, Dance, Preschool Dance and Creation, Preschool Children’s Art Education, Kindergarten Organization and Management, Preschool Children’s Game Theory, Preschool Health Care and Health Education,Design and Guidance of Kindergarten Educational Activity, Social Education for Preschool Children, Preschool Children’s Mathematics Education, Foundation of Chinese Painting, Method of Playing the Piano, Piano Foundation, Kindergarten Teaching AIDS Making, Education of Fine Arts, as well as the trial lecture of educational trainee (internship) and the training of segment teaching. The center is open to all liberal arts students in Jimei University, especially for students majoring in primary education and preschool education. Preschool major’s piano training studios (with 30 pianos) and dance studios are opened in 24 hours for preschool majors (including Saturday and Sunday). The electric piano classrooms are open to primary education majors whotake the “Piano Foundation” course, and the microteaching room is open for a fixed period of time to seniors and graduates who would take the national teacher recruitment examination. At the same time, the center undertakes the tasks of discipline construction and provides teachers with a practical training and experiment platform for teaching and scientific research.
The center currently has 25 teachers, including 6 doctors, 5 associate professors, 14 lecturers and 5 full-time laboratory managers (1 senior experimenter, 3 experimental lecturers, and 1 senior worker).
